Of course Raspberry Pi 5 can output 24-bit DPI, though this does use all of the available GPIO pins.Given that, is there any way to get full 8-bit depth over DPI, or is TFP401A the only way to preserve full colour depth?
Though if the projector has an 18-bit interface, you're presumably stuck with RGB666... You could either output 24-bit RGB888 and just not connect the two LSBs of each component; or you could use RGB666_1X24_CPADHI (and not connect the two MSBs). Either of those will avoid the "RGB444" problem.
