Just had a quick look at the Raspbery Pi Documentation pages for clues on what/where to do/go next to unstall my little project needing only to read a couple of GPIO input lines and drive a couple of output lines. Got to say if what I want is there it's more than a bit obscured and haven't yet found anything actually useful to me. Solutions above using the old command line interface are not applicable here.
On the face of it accessing GPIO is no longer a thing for the Foundation.
Also followed the "libgpiod" story but found it a bit confusing given the various itterations, deprecations and version numbers. A lot detail seeming to predate Trixie. I did find an example of using it with 'C' code which would have been a start had the author better outlined how it really worked now but leaving it to a "Monkey see, Monkey do" example. Seems very different to when I started out with WiringPi and then transitioning to a very short journey with "pigpiod" before crashing out again into deprecation land on Trixie.
