I recall that connecting to the REALVNC viewer was an issue with some previous Debian OS's. But with my more recent installs, I did not have this issue, ie from my windows 11 laptop and I can fire-up REALVNC viewer and connect to other servers, BUT not to my most recent build on a Pi4B running TRIXIE.
During the setup I was using a monitor and keyboard. Running STARTX I was always successful in going to the GUI Desktop. If I go back to the keyboard&monitor configuration it still successfully displays to GUI Desktop. However, if I use my Windows 11 laptop and REALVNC Viewer it does not work with this TRIXIE build. The FIRST time tried I got a black VNC screen. I rebooted and re-setup the connection and that time I got the "Cannot currently show the desktop" error message.
I GOOGLED the issue and followed this reference (https://www.joshualowcock.com/guide/how ... -pi-works/), It did not fix the issue.
