Ok using my phone, and connect, but shows the problem of a large cone icon into the side tray. I know I can turn it off the VLC preferences, but shouldn't it resize?
(The menus are far easier to point and select now. Shame about all the other programs)

The only way I can get that to happen is by setting the dock icon size to a large value, opening VLC, and then setting the dock icon size to a smaller value while VLC is running. The icon is not being resized in real time - I'll have a look at that.
Are you able to just open VLC and have the icon the wrong size without changing the icon size when it is open?

I'll try it on another device at some point. But it will be a few weeks as I have no other with the desktop to test in (I think).
Edit, will await whatever fix comes and can then test it.
