OK, so it drops you to the command line, logged in as the normal user.
Run sudo raspi-config and then go to System options -> Auto Login and choose to auto-login to the desktop. Reboot and you shoud be logged in the desktop interface, which is what I assume you mean by 'Raspberry Pi OS'.
