I do wonder how long Raspberry Pi can sweat the BCM27xx?
It reminds me of the Austin A Series engine that was first used in a car in 1952 and stayed in production until 2000, product life-cycles are much shorter these days. Original BCM2708 roots must be back in the early 2000s.
