I would check whether the monitor you intend to use already has a DVI or HDMI input. If so, then there is no need to perform a double conversion back and forth from digital to analogue to digital.Hello,
I am new to Raspberry Pi and about to buy the build a computer kit that comes with no monitor for my 8 year old son who's into coding.
Searching, I wasn't able to confirm if I need a specific converter for Pi or if any HDMI to VGA converter will do. Please help me confirm this.
Thank you for your help. Looking forward to learning from these forums.
Note, there are very few CRT monitors that still work and most flat-screen LCD monitors have at least a DVI input. Yes, I know there are some LCD monitors with only VGA inputs. If that's what you have, I suggest going to the second-hand store and swapping it for one with digital inputs.
