as you say you have this https://www.waveshare.com/poe-hat-h.htm you just need to mount it correctly. As waveshare claims it's a HAT then the required overlay should be loaded (as per indication in the HATs EEPROM).

If you can't find documentation on a product why did you buy it?
Support for third party products needs to be provided by the third party - they took your money, they are in charge!

Falling off connector -> excessive force needed when removing it -> (most likely) some ripped of pads as well.
