Interfacing (DSI, CSI, I2C, etc.) • Using an EM272 Microphone capsule with Raspberry Pi ??

I would like to connect a TM272 electrect microphone capsule through an inexpensive microphone to USB adapter to a Raspberry Pi. Since it is an electrect microphone, it appears it needs external power to operate and If I am reading the data sheet correctly, it needs 5V and draws 600 microamps. Given that information, I have two questions.

1.Since the EM272 draws 600 microamps at 5V I would think, using ohms law, that it would appear to a circuit as having a resistance of 8333 ohms. If that assumption is correct, could you use higher voltage if you put an appropriate resistor in series to lower the voltage?

For example, if the voltage was 10V could you put an 8333 ohm resistor in series with the EM272 so there is a 5V drop across the resistor and a 5V drop across the microphone?

2. Could you connect a capacitor, (.1 microfard??) between the junction of the resistor and the microphone to couple the microphone output to the microphone input of the USB adapter? Would it isolate the DC to the microphone while allowing the audio signal to pass? It seems like a simple solution, but I am not an expert so I wonder if I am missing something.
