Okay, that's really interesting! I guess you guys work pretty fast over thereI think we can see what's going on. There's a problem related to "debinning", which is the process of fixing up the spatial sampling locations of the pixels, and which is disturbed by the binning process itself. Normally we expect the ISP to fix that up, but the IMX500, unbeknownst to us, is _also_ doing it. So we'll have to have a think exactly how best to sort that out.
Would you still like me to post the rpicam-still output?
I'll keep an eye out for a fix, but in the meantime I guess I'll stick with using the non-binned mode.
