I'm seeing the same issue. I'm using the OS image that was recommended for Raspberry Pi Zero W by the Raspberry Pi Imager this week.

I have tried both lite and desktop, same result. dmesg says:

Code:

[ 40.352108] usbcore: registered new interface driver brcmfmac[ 40.837671] brcmfmac_wcc: brcmf_wcc_attach: executing[ 40.874275] brcmfmac: brcmf_c_process_txcap_blob: no txcap_blob available (err=-2)[ 40.885967] brcmfmac: brcmf_c_preinit_dcmds: Firmware: BCM43430/1 wl0: Jul 19 2021 03:24:18 version 7.45.98 (TOB) (56df937 CY) FWID 01-8e14b897[ 42.400130] 8021q: 802.1Q VLAN Support v1.8
The "iwlist scanning" command reports the same six hotspots that my other devices see. The receive side of the wifi chip is working. I have a valid ESSID and WPA-PSK in both /etc/network/interfaces.d/wlan0 and /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf. But there is no DISCOVER on the hotspot. It's not transmitting. Wired Ethernet works fine. I ran "rpi-update" and it updated a lot of stuff, but wifi still gives the same error.

Code:

root@pepper:~# uname -a ; cat /etc/os-release Linux pepper 6.6.21+ #1742 Tue Mar 12 19:40:00 GMT 2024 armv6l GNU/LinuxPRETTY_NAME="Raspbian GNU/Linux 11 (bullseye)"NAME="Raspbian GNU/Linux"VERSION_ID="11"VERSION="11 (bullseye)"VERSION_CODENAME=bullseyeID=raspbianID_LIKE=debianHOME_URL="http://www.raspbian.org/"SUPPORT_URL="http://www.raspbian.org/RaspbianForums"BUG_REPORT_URL="http://www.raspbian.org/RaspbianBugs"
Has the original R-Pi Zero W been abandoned by the Foundation?
