Then you don't have rpi-eeprom-mgr in the current directory. Don't forget to extract it from rpi-eeprom-mgr.zip first:

Code:

unzip rpi-eeprom-mgr.zip
You are the very best ! no SD card inserted. Booted via usb only. Need a SD card during this process OR simply follow the instructions with no SD card already inserted ? Have no backup yet...So a bit nervous cause I did customise lots of things.... Install Timeshift app but did not have the chance to make a full copy (mirror) of my USB Sandisk ultra 128gb yet...

Thanks again for your help !
Hi !
Ran the EEPROM manager BUT the version you've mentioned is not listed ...ONLY September 2023 .BIN files are listed.
Hi
I did : sudo cp /home/bt92200/Downloads/pieeprom-2024-02-16.bin /usr/lib/firmware/raspberrypi/bootloader-2712/stable

Restarted rpi-EEPROM-mgr and the choice pour Stable 2024-02-16 is displayed. then says: Reset Bootloader to defaults ? YES or NO ? Answered YES cause wanted to get the basic defaults settings. My RPI 5 is now update:

bt92200@BTRPI5:~$ sudo rpi-eeprom-update
[sudo] password for bt92200:
BOOTLOADER: up to date
CURRENT: Fri Feb 16 15:28:41 UTC 2024 (1708097321)
LATEST: Mon Sep 25 10:44:03 UTC 2023 (1695638643)
RELEASE: default (/lib/firmware/raspberrypi/bootloader-2712/default)
Use raspi-config to change the release.
bt92200@BTRPI5:~$

Nothing else important to "Update" ?
Hope it's gonna solve my instabilities problem. If you know a command I can use in order to check and solve minor integrity problems please let me know. Thanks for everything from Quebec-Canada ! I really appreciated your kind help and technical support
