UPDATE:
Did some testing on other platforms and I can see 0.5.x has some issues with the ARTIK and the pi 3 A+. I'm seeing i2c errors that I don't see on the faster Pi 4. This was all done with RPI OS Bookworm 64bit, not the best choice to run on an 3 A+ but 0.4.0 worked just fine so it's something to do with the V3 support.
I'm thinking that auto detecting the case each time isn't necessary the daemon should be configured for whatever case is in the system auto detection should be reserved for users that switch there boot media between machines.
I tested the 0.5.x-rework and it seems fine I could use a second look and test.
