General • Pico based Uzebox-alike games console

I have found several gameboy-alike Pico based games consoles but has nobody created, or started to work on, creating a fully open source games console similar to the Uzebox (Omega)?

These are the sort of specs I'd like to see:

* Must be fully open source hardware and software including (eventually) a 3D printable case. Gerbers and EDA files should be free and open source.
* Must support attaching at least 2 game controllers. I prefer wired controllers personally but bluetooth controller support would be good too.. 2x USB ports would do the trick but otherwise it could use SNES controllers like the Uzebox as its quite easy to build SNES controllers.
* VGA video output.
* (Micro)SD card slot.
* RCA audio output and/or headphone jack.
* Should use a minimal amount of components to keep cost down and make it easier to build.

The Pimoroni Pico VGA Demo Base looks pretty close to what I'm asking for but it doesn't have any controller connectors, its no longer available and it doesn't seem to be open source either.

Does such a thing exist already? Is anyone else interested in such a console? Is it possible to connect at least 2 USB (A/1.1) joysticks to a Pico?
