I think perhaps you're stuck on the "access point" terminology, when you really mean that client devices connected via Ethernet should receive a DHCP lease and internet connectivity, with said connectivity being supplied by a wireless interface.
If this characterizes your needs, WLAN routing is a potential solution (as described above).
