No, just use their default web browsers. All modern browsers can use serial connections to devices now.

I am not sure they can. When I visited https://www.connectedlittleboxes.com/gettingstarted.html that said my Firefox (127.0.2) doesn't support serial connections but was happy with Chrome.

Firefox hangs my Pi 4B 1GB and needs a power-pull reset so I couldn't test that, but Chrome does seem to support serial connections on a Pi.
