Staffroom, classroom and projects • Re: Undergrad Project

Apologies if I'm posting this in the wrong place but I'm trying to get some guidance. I have a project due for school and apparently, this is a graduation requirement. I've already had to change my project once so I don't want to change it again. But let me explain, so I chose a physical Raspberry Pi running blockchain for IoT security as my project. It checked all the boxes; recent tech, fairly innovative (has been done to death), within feasibility, scalable. But now I'm getting emails saying I need to find help or Im likely to not finish in time. Only problem is, I'm active duty military and I don't have time to research blockchain coding, figure out how to pull the communication protocol off an IoT device, find an open source IoT device that I can try and pull the communication protocol off of, and code the raspberry pi, and so on. So I'm trying to streamline as much as possible and see if anyone knows of any devices that I could easily experiment with that don't cost an insane amount.
What does "running Blockchain for IoT security" actually mean? Stringing together a bunch of buzzwords to try and get a degree doesn't really work, unless you're really good at it.
