General discussion • 3b+ harware version

i have 2 version 3b+ boads in my hands. the newer 3b+ cannot run TF card firmware which i used on old hardware version.
my question is the new hardware is offical engineering changes? i didn't see engineering changes from website. the post picture on the website is still old version.
